Over at iVillage, I stumbled across this fun game called MindHabits Booster created by MindHabits Inc, which is designed to help you focus on more positive images thereby improving your self esteem. In the game, they give you a series of faces, and your task is to find the one smiling face in the crowd of frowners and downers. By practicing, you get better and faster at locating the "up" folks. It's a good skill to have especially when you have to do a great deal of schmoozing or mingling for work or fun.
I like the principle behind what the MindHabits people are doing. I think games like MindHabits Booster are empowering tools for those of us who believe that we are not good enough, lovable enough, or confident enough unless we can fit into our skinny jeans.
You get 4 rounds to see your improvement. That in itself is an esteem booster ;-) Here are my scores. I bet you positive, sun-shiners can do better ;-)
