Give back the award Kate Moss

I'm still on a rampage about this Kate Moss "Model of the Year" thing. In talking with my best friend about this, she made a very excellent point to me. If Kate has any sort of decency or integity she will give this award back to whatever committee it came from.

Why? Because it will show some kind of understanding on Kate's part that although she has been a very busy model this year, she does not want anyone especially young women and men to get the idea that getting more modeling work because of a drug controversy is something to be rewarded. She can say thank you for the acknowledgment, but please give the award to someone who has shown grace and responsibility in the fashion world.

Kate cannot do anything about the sickening and selfish fashion world, or the businesses that will hire anyone because they get media attention, good or bad, but Kate can do something about her own image. She can do something that would make her a better role model. I don't condemn Kate for making a mistake, what I do condemn is the fact that she is not doing anything to disway younger people from making the same mistake she did.

By Kate disclaiming this award,  it would be a most humbling act, and one that shows that this woman has a sense of depth that shows she can think about the greater good of the whole above herself. I know asking a model to be deep is asking a lot, but I can dream. If by some miracle, Kate did give back this award, it would be something highly respectable that I, and am sure many others, would give Kate a big sense of acknowledgment for. It would also be an immensely good example to others who consider her a role model.
