Listed below are links to weblogs that reference States of beauty obsessed cities rank low on healthiness:
Ironically, Minnesota is also the home state of the UnitedHealth Group. SO, is their some bias going on? You decide. The factors that go into determing rank include prevalence of obesity, smoking, infectious disease, cardiovascular deaths, infant mortality, child poverty, immunization rates, workplace deaths, auto deaths, and number of people with health insurance.
What I found interesting about this health ranking list is that the states of highly beauty obsessed cities: New York City, NY, Miami, FL and Los Angeles, CA have low rankings. California comes in at #23 tied with Wyoming, New York is #29, and Florida is #41. See. It's unhealthy obsessing about being too skinny, smoking to be cool, and sleeping around.
