4 weight loss pill companies pay $25million to FTC for deceptive marketing

Because of allegations of deceptive marketing practices, these fat burner brands settled out of court with the Federal Trade Commission.

  • Xenadrine EFX
  • CortiSlim
  • TrimSpa
  • One-A-Day WeightSmart

"The FTC has filed complaints in four separate cases alleging that weight-loss and weight-control claims were not supported by competent and reliable scientific evidence. Marketers of the four products –Xenadrine EFX, CortiSlim, TrimSpa, and One-A-Day WeightSmart – have settled with the FTC, surrendered cash and other assets worth at least $25 million, and agreed to limit their future advertising claims."

Trimspa All of these brands of weight loss pills were very popular, and no doubt many of you have tried at least one of them. I tried CortisSlim two years ago, and spent about $150 to get "the belly fat shrink away." Of course, the only thing that slimmed was my pocketbook. And how many of you, like myself, were totally sucked in by Anna Nicole Smith's dramatic weight loss which she attributed to TrimSpa? Now, I'm wondering how Anna Nicole really dropped all that weight.

Cortislim_talbott The two paying the biggest amounts are Xenadrine EFX and CortiSlim which means that they were the biggest of all the liars deceivers. This whole case just goes to show you that there is no such thing as weight loss in a pill, and that the fantasy of being thin is so powerful that we will part with our hard earned dollars for a quick fix which really has no sound medical evidence behind it despite the fact that "doctors," like in the case of CortiSlim, are pushing the product.

You have to work at getting the fat off. It took you work to put the pounds on, and it will take work to get the pounds off. More here on the details of the FTC's case.
