A while back I wrote a post called, "Tyra Banks is not fat for crying out loud" in which I spoke about the fat remarks some celeb blogs were making about pictures of Tyra in a bikini on vacation. The woman isn't in skinny runway shape anymore, and has gained some weight since her modeling days, but gimme a break, she is far from being fat. Tyra is still stunning, and in my opinion looks more womanly. At 5'10" she is carrying about 161 pounds. She was 30 pounds lighter when she posed on the cover of Sports Illustrated in 1997.
In the February 5 issue of People magazine, Tyra comes out to say how upset she was by all the unflattering things people were saying about those vacation pictures, and to the tabloids who ran titles like "America's Next Top Waddle" or "Tyra Porkchop". Yeah! That's some mean stuff. If I were her, I'd be upset too. Frankly, it would be devastating. Tyra said in People:
"It was such a strange meanness and rejoicing that people had when thinking that was what my body looked like. It was really hurtful to me." She added, "I get so much mail from young girls who say, 'I look up to you, you're not as skinny as everyone else, I think you're beautiful. So when they say that my body is 'ugly' and 'disgusting,' what does that make those girls feel like?"
Why is weight gain such food for fodder at someone's expense even if it is a celebrity? I think people are harsher towards Tyra because she was once a highly paid catwalker and covergirl. Tyra can finally relax and not live a model's life anymore, so let her people. Tyra is the host of her own talk show and executive producing another. She's doing things far more substantial than modeling. We think Tyra is beautiful, and good for her for letting her human-ness shine.

Forbes has become famous in my book more for their "lists." People love lists. It's the hierarchy, and fame for being on the top. The most recent Forbes list is "The Web Celeb 25". It's basically a list of who Forbes thinks are the most fascinating, influential people online.
Here are the power 4 ladies:
I am irked that there are so many talented and high profile women online, and tons of ladies surfing the net, and yet the representation here is still male dominated. Here are some very influential online women who are missing in my book. Why aren't any of these ladies in this Forbes list?
Update: I stand corrected on why Huffington and Malkin are not on the list. Late night. Info didn't stick. My bad. But still. There should be more women on this Forbes list.
