Listed below are links to weblogs that reference Grey's Addison in "Private Practice" peek rocked:
[spoiler alert. click off now if you don't want details.]
I couldn't wait to watch the 2-hour Grey's Anatomy last night where Addison takes a leave of absence to go clear her head in Santa Monica, and I was not disappointed at all. In fact, I wasn't much interested in what was going on at Seattle Grace. Although, that scene at the end with Meredith and her dad when she tells him that step-mom died was heartbreaking.
The way they have set up both shows is brilliant. There will be no conflict only compliment. Grey's Anatomy is about a group of young doctor's starting out in their careers, and they have all the life problems and issues that people in their 20's deal with on a daily basis. Private Practice (Addison's spinoff) is about a group of doctors who are late 30s-40s who have made some career shifts, have more life experience, and have "mid-life" type problems and issues at the forefront. Grey's features typical Western ways of healing, and Addison's show features Co-op, holistic healing modalities.
Right away, I got sucked into the issues of:
One thing I really liked about the Addison show is that even though the cast is older, everyone looks hot, but realistic hot, not soap opera fake hot. They also have good chemistry. If that Wellness Center were a real place, I'd go there for treatment. Oh, and that kiss between Addison and Dr. Pete was panty-dropping-hot. There was indeed plenty of tongue. Splendid. Even though, Dr. Petey is a bit of a player like McSteamy, I think he's a better fit for Addison.
It's exciting to see Taye Diggs, Amy Brennaman, and Tim Daly back on TV. I love these actors. I thought it was funny that Amy Brennaman is now working with Tim Daly who is the real life sister of Tyne Daly, the actress who played Amy's mom in the show Judging Amy.
Lastly, I TOTALLY love the showing of alternative and co-op types of healing modalities. Disease in the body is just that dis-ease. Your body is not in ease, and illness is most often (in my opinion) physical manifestations of deeper emotional issues. I've had treatment from a husband/wife team before where the wife treated my body, and the husband treated my emotions/spirit, and I have to say that I did a great deal of healing during the time I saw them, and I believe it was because of the group effort.
I cannot wait to see more of Private Practice. Gimme more! This is gonna be a loooong summer.
