Listed below are links to weblogs that reference Busy men can use a "personal headhunter" to meet women:
These people are not matchmakers or a dating service, but personal agents who will help men score, what looks like, a perfect young trophy who doesn't know better. Who knew that today's man is so bogged down climbing corporate ladders that people are now offering "the catch" to hunt down "the best" as if women were game like turkeys and deer. Just when I get excited that women are now CEOs of Fortune 500 companies and running for President of the U.S., sexist crap like this show up to remind us women that we are still sexual objects, conquests, prizes to be had by rich and powerful men who have enough dough and are too damn lazy to find their own woman.
I found the ad in the Tech section of the San Jose Mercury newspaper, the prime paper in Silicon Valley a place like Alaska where the ratio of men to women is ridiculously skewed toward the testosterone side. The placement of the ad made perfect sense because Geeks and women, well, picture that for a moment, and it all starts to make sense. I get that there is a need for Geeks who need help finding a date, but the ad itself could have been designed with more class. This design looks like the Eddie Numskull Mad Men came up with it.
Oprah let everyone know that San Jose and San Francisco, 45 miles to the north, were 2 of the 5 best places in the U.S. to find a single man over 35 years old.
Since I live in the San Jose-San Francisco area, I can concur that if you are desperately in search of bagging yourself a husband, moving two the Bay Area is like getting a two-for-one. However, small heads up about the men here, the odds are good, but the goods are odd. And I'll leave it there for now ;-)
