Listed below are links to weblogs that reference Would you break up with your iPhone over an $1889 bill from AT&T?:
Money is one of the top causes for break-ups, and if you got a nifty new iPhone and saw that your first bill from AT&T was $1889, no doubt the "I don't know if this relationship is going to work" conversations would begin.
So, how on earth is it that one can rack up an iPhone bill that is about as much money as a mortgage payment? The money gobbling culprit was the Usage charges stemming from voice roaming ($350) and mobile data roaming ($1413) used internationally. Apparently, the unlimited data plan is for U.S. use only. Once you start crossing borders the fees can skyrocket.
In Philippe's bill he also points out some of the fine print you should know about before you start using your iPhone like a Blackberry internationally. Philippe also called AT&T to see if there was any way to negotiate this shocking bill, and they told him no. So okay, the relationship has it's first glaring red flag. Is it too early to break up?
That alluring iPhone sure is a thing of wonder in more ways than one. But before you make that 2-year commitment, you might want to think hard about how compatible you two really are.
