Martha Stewart is socializing with us on Facebook and MySpace

Martha Stewart and I became friends on Facebook yesterday, and I have to say that I am feeling pretty jazzed in a "Tom at MySpace is my friend too" kinda way. Check out Martha's Facebook profile, and give her a poke. BTW. Martha Stewart is also hanging out on MySpace.

Martha's profiles on Facebook and MySpace are actually pretty meaty. I seriously doubt though that Martha herself is doing much of the profile updating, but I think it is really cool that she is at least making an effort to hang out with us netizens even though some PR person is most likely scribing as her stunt double. When is Oprah gonna join the party?

The rumor from the web gnomes is that all this online socializing Martha Stewart is doing is to gear up for the launch of her own social media properties MarthaSpace and Marthapedia. This lady is one smart cookie as she grows her empire into the social web. If it's cool, I think I would actually join MarthaSpace and be active on it. The odds have having half naked and drunk "friends" on MarthaSpace would be happily slim.

Interesting factoid, Martha and I have a mutual fondness for Pac-Man. Who knew. And Martha, well, today she is feeling content. Good for her!
