And thus, there is the creation of ModelsHotel.com. TechCrunch did a write up on this "selective" social network, and this is how MH describe themselves:
There is even a list of the "approved" modeling agencies that one must be represented by before you can get the thumbs up to join. The company is trying to raise $1.5 million in venture funding to keep the "doors open" for their haute monde socializers which number about 1,000. Apparently, 2,000 people have tried to sign up over the past year, and half of them were rejected. Guess the pretty bar is Victoria's Secret high.
So okay, are we supposed to take Modelshotel.com seriously? I really can't to be frank, but it is good fodder for me to blog about. Talk about taking the pretty people snobbishness and class distinction to an uber level.
