Dove shows us how the fashion industry "talks" to girls
Dove is out with their latest commercial on real beauty, and I have to say that I really love the statement behind the commercial, "Talk to your daughter before the fashion industry does it for you."
I got all tingly when I saw that statement coupled with the visuals in this commercial. The one thing that Dove should have included in this video are images of dolls like Barbie and The Bratz. Dolls are a by product of the fashion industry too and very much contribute to the brainwash as well. Now, the ad is more targeted to parents but as a single, all I could think was "Wow! Now I can see how we all got brainwashed!"
Even though I don't have children, I immediately felt like grabbing any young girl I know and start talking to her about self esteem and body image before that manipulative fashion industry starts their brain-hold or more importantly that heart-hold on them. This commercial is another home run from Dove.
