In
the November 5 issue of Us Weekly, on stands now, Trista Sutter of The Bachelorette fame talks about how she wants to "fit into in my skinny jeans." Now this is a celeb rag, so I take this with a grain of salt, as things can get overly sensationalized, but the writing of this article left me with the impression that Trista has an overly critical and almost distorted view of her body and the whys of getting back to shape after just having had a baby.
Some of the excerpts that stand out:
- "I'm definitely not pleased when I look in the mirror, admits the 5'2" star who now wears a size 4 and weighs 116 pounds, but aspires to surpass her prebaby physique and get down to 106 pounds. "When I fit into my size 26 Hudson jeans, then I'll be happy." (Trista weighed 108 prebaby)
- "It's been three months (since she had the baby) and the fact that I'm still not in them (her skinny jeans) is a bummer."
- "If I eat something that I shouldn't, Ryan shakes his finger at me and says, 'Uh, uh, uh!'"
- They asked her, "Did you diet at all during your pregnancy?"
Trista also goes on quite a bit about how much she hates her belly flab. What's so disturbing to me about Trista's views is that she just had a baby and a challenging pregnancy and she can't give herself a break. She developed Gestational Diabetes and the baby had to be delivered via C-Section a month early because of preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome.
I'm honestly shocked that Trista isn't spending more time talking about the pregnancy and that her baby is healthy instead of ranting about how she has gotten back into her skinny jeans only 3 months after a life-threatening birth. She can't feel sexy again until she's 106 pounds? She's a size 4 now and a new mom, that is incredibly sexy to most people. Her body expectations are really un-realistic, and it's an unhealthy image to promote to her fans or other women in a similar situation. But, this is what Hollywood does to people.
