I mentioned a few weeks ago that my naturopathic doctor tested me for heavy metals toxicity, and tested my amino acids. The results came in last week, and there was nothing too alarming with the amino acids test. But, the shocker came in the results of the heavy metals.
I have elevated levels of lead, tungsten, and a whole bunch of mercury. Yikes!
So how can heavy metals toxicity affect your body? Here are some of the effects that I have experienced:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Fatigue
- Memory Loss
- Irritability
- Suppressed thyroid and adrenal function
- Diminished vision
The tungsten toxicity was a shocker to my doctor as high levels of tungsten are a rarity. Where I got that tungsten over load, I have no idea. Tungsten is used primarily in jet planes, construction, and light bulbs. It's also used quite a bit in circuit boards, heat sinks, and electronics which is where I may have gotten the tungsten exposure since I worked in the semiconductor industry most of my career. It seemed ironic to me that Silicon Valley which made me emotionally and spiritually sick was also making me literally sick physically.
Where all the mercury came from can be a combination of things like pollution, seafood, drinking water, and dental amalgams. My mouth is loaded with dental amalgams which I got when I was a kid in the mid-70's back when they used a lot of mercury in the fillings. There is great debate over whether dental fillings can make you mercury toxic.
I asked my dentist about this debate, and he put it this way to me. When he takes out the fillings, he has to follow a strict protocol of removal and disposal. The fillings are put in hazardous material bags, and if he should accidently drop one of them on the floor, then there is a whole other procedure for dealing with that delicate toxic situation. So, now if my dentist has to handle the removed fillings like they are deadly zombie material, and this stuff has been in your mouth all those years, well follow some logic.
Vanity can make you physically toxic ...
For me, I don't have just 3-4 fillings, I have like 10. That's a load of mercury filled virulence in my mind. Consequently, the dentist who did this to me and countless others is in jail now because of embezzlement and excessive unnecessary procedures. Because I have so many fillings that have to be replaced, it's going to cost almost $5 grand. Yeah, total yikes! For now, those suckers are going to stay in my mouth until the money fairies drop some bags of cash at my door.
As for lead, I also learned that you can get lead over load from make-up. Vanity can make you physically toxic. Oh scary yeah! Tomorrow, I will elaborate on how we are going to get the unwanted metals out of my body.
