Random thoughts on skinny: peppermint bark and naughty elves
One of my favorite holiday sinful treats is peppermint bark. Williams Sonoma
makes some of the best I've had. I also like to drop pieces of the
peppermint bark in hot chocolate or coffee for some added holiday kick.
I have to admit that I am a total sucker for holiday cards that have babies in cute poses like dressed up to look like one of Santa's elves, posing with their dog who has strapped on reindeer antlers, or the little snowman. Your kid will probably "mom how could you" later on when they're a teenager for the humiliation but who cares, it's really cute now.
When you go shopping, what is the percentage of stuff that you actually buy for yourself? Because of all the great sales, I tend to buy one thing for myself for every three gifts that I get for others. I totally get suckered into the buy 2 get 1 free deals because that free one is going to be for me. Logically, I know it's not free but hey that's part of marketing mental tricks, and we all know it, yet we continue to succumb to mighty consumerism.
Would you dress up like a naughty elf, put a big bow on you, and surprise your man for some zesty holiday canoodling? I would think most men would love this kind of gift.
FitSugar has some cool tips on staying healthy this holiday season. I like #4 "You're not Super woman." Totally! How many of us "perfectionist" types do WAY more than we need to or stress out needlessly because we think we' re not doing enough. {raising my hand}
