Focusing on the love of life builds health in more ways than one
In the future, if you start having a crappy day, and are feeling the urge to munch out on a bag of chocolate chip cookies or crunchy cheesy chips because you can't remember what is worth loving about life, one place I'd like you to go first is read the comments on the recent post, "Your Two Cents: What Do You Love About Life?" This post is worth bookmarking. Man, I'm telling you that after reading the 50 comments, my heart felt huge and there was not room for one single sad or depressing thought in me. Admittedly, I blubbered a bit with tears of joy like someone who won a makeover on Oprah.
I have to say that in the over two years I've been blogging here at Back in Skinny Jeans, no post commentary has made me feel so grateful and inspired as this one. You people really are amazing, and when you read the comments you can genuinely feel from each one of them the joy and love from that person. Everyone's two cents also reminds us of how we as humans really are connected in so many ways, and that we can come together and help uplift one another. Those uplifting feelings you get can help you build up your health mentally, emotionally, and physically.
The themes that I found inspiring were:
- The importance of loved ones.
- The vastness of opportunities in life that we all have open to us.
- Despite hard and challenging times, people can see that this is part of the growing and learning process.
- The appreciation of small things.
One thing to note, not one person said that what they loved about life was material things (ie. big house, lots of money, hot car), having a nice firm butt, or skinny thighs. Not that those things aren't worth loving to have in one's life, but I found it really inspiring that deeper and more meaningful things top people's love priorities.
So, Bravo people! Thank you for sharing what you love about life.
And, lastly, we have a winner of a Large Tin of Tea Forte. Congrats to reader lee (Feb. 16), who wrote, "what i love about life is that now i am able to not only give love freely, but i have learned to accept love, both from myself and others. i deserve love, i expect love, i give love and i GET love! love is better when it rolls both ways! love IS a wonderful thing!"
....so true!
