Since I'm going to talk about work life and how it can affect your weight and health, I thought a good theme for this week's business card size inspiration signs would be on stress. The sign, "It is what it is" is something that Matt's 90-ish Jewish grandmother always says when life gets tough. Whenever I picture her saying that, all my stress seems to disappear because the words help me get perspective.
You cannot control or change people or situations, and most times I think we get worked up because we want the people and situations in our life to be different than what they are. Once you accept things as they are instead of what you wished them to be, then your stress levels can start dropping, and you can start acting according to what you got to deal with. For example, a lemon is a lemon. You can either take the sour and have a miserable experience, or you can add sugar & water for lemonade and make it a sweet experience, but still, the lemon is still the lemon. The difference is your acceptance and choice to make something good out of what you got in front of you.
