Time for Tuesday's tiny changes inspiration-a-thon. How's your effort to make tiny changes to create a slimmer healthier you coming along? 'member, making a bunch of tiny changes, changes so small they almost don't seem to count as changes, are what will help you get to your goal and then stay there in the long run. The Inner Resistance Monster might just go into permanent hibernation.
- One night when cooking, try seasoning your dishes or meats with just herbs, and no sauces or condiments. Sauces and condiments can add lots of calories and additives or preservatives like high fructose corn syrup, as well as drown the natural flavor of the food.
- Bring lunch to work at least one day this week. It will help you save money, and calories.
- If you're single and wanting to get back in the dating scene, this week make an effort to look three attractive people in the eye and smile at them. You don't need to talk, stop, or do anything else. Just look and smile. This will help you work your mojo muscles.
- Have you played with Twitter? Here's my Twitter place: skinnyjeans if you'd like to check it out. Twitting my workouts helped me stay committed to exercise because I felt a sense of accountability to my followers and my word. The Twitter community is really supportive and helpful too.
- Try going on a 20-30 minute walk out doors one day this week. Walking is a good exercise and you don't need to "gear up" to do it. You can even go on a walk during your lunch break and get some fresh air and space to clear your mind.
Here's what I did last week:
- One night when I really wanted to go out and buy some cookies, ice cream, or cake, I found some hot chocolate in the cupboards and made a cup of that instead.
- During one of my walks, I left the iPod in my pocket and listened to the sounds around me. It was morning time, and the sound of morning was actually quite soothing.
