I'd like you all to meet Valerie Waters who is a celebrity trainer, and a really, really nice person. She's been so kind and helpful to me online, that you all just have to meet her.
Valerie has a clientele list that reads like People magazine including the likes of Jennifer Garner, Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel, Benicio Del Toro, and a whole lot more. When she asked me to look at her exercise product the Valslide and her book Red Carpet Ready, I thought, "Well if it's a wonder for the Alias ass-kicking better half of Bennifer, then hook me up!" The video gets into more detail about the Valslide.
When you first look at the slides out of the box it doesn't look like much, but once you start doing some of the exercises especially the lunges, oh my fricking goodness do you feel the burn and then some. Admittedly, the vision of Jennifer Garner using the Valslide to get into Elektra shape makes me want to lunge and squat.
What I like is that you are using your own body weight to work on your muscles versus using weight training machines. I'm not a fan of the machines. Also, I love the fact that the slides and the band pack very easily & flat, and can be thrown into a little black wheelie suitcase or even a large Tote, so you can workout when on vacation or on the road for business.
When I used to travel for work, I always looked for ways to exercise in my hotel room. I've even used Bibles as weights. Lord forgive me but thank you for the nice toned arms. The Valslide is perfect for business travelers who want to continue to workout on the road because sometimes that hotel gym is not so fun. For vacationers, you can slip in 10 minutes of leg work before slipping into your Daisy Dukes.
I liked her book Red Carpet Ready because not only is it loaded with some good simple information about nutrition, and has a nicely laid out workout plan, the book has lots of color and bright pictures. To some, color in a book may not be a big deal, but I told Valerie, I've never seen a health/fitness book as colorful as hers, and the designer in me, loves that.
Valerie also has a new blog, The Val Blog, so definitely stop by and check it out for her latest tips & trends. Valerie also appears quite a bit in some of the top women's magazines like Shape, Women's Health & Fitness, and Allure, so look for her there too. And again, did I mention how nice Valerie is?
