Men have advantage over women in exercise
I'm like Cranky Fitness in my skepticism towards "studies" because depending on who's paying for the study and if Pisces in the House of Aquarius or Mercury, the results change like what color is the new black.
Ladies, when it comes to exercise, this study by the American College of Sports Medicine just reminds me of the corporate ladder. Women have to work harder than men to get ahead. Here's the skinny:
- The XY's have a distinct advantage because they don't have to work out as long or as hard as a woman to get results.
- An XX body reacts to exercise like a short term starvation and metabolism slows down to preserve weight. It takes about 2-3 weeks for her body to snap out of that "slow down" mode so starting & stopping is not good.
- Men are less likely to get injured during exercise compared to women, and chicks suffer more knee pains.
- To burn fat, women need to do longer and less intense cardio, 30-45 minutes minimum.
No wonder we're all so tired with bad knees. When is the study coming out that says women keep fat off longer than men because..well..just because.
