Am I the only dame who didn't have "Sex & the City" frenzy on the brain this weekend?
Now, I love Sex & the City like everyone else, but I didn't have the itchy goosebumps to cram myself into a crowded movie theater this weekend to watch the film with what a friend's husband observed, "a gaggle of giddy girls." Overall, I'm just not a "gotta be one of the first" type of fan for anything. Although, one exception, when the iPod first launched, I was one of the first to buy one of those magical musical devices. I had an iPod before everyone I knew.
I will indeed watch the film this week because again I'm a huge fan, and miss Miranda, Charlotte, Carrie, Samantha, and Oh-my-Mr-Big. In fact, last week, I watched the entire final season on HBO On Demand in order to catch up where we left off. I was thrilled to hear that the movie made big waves with its nearly $57 million dollar weekend opening booting Indiana Jones out of first, and being one of the most popular R-Rated comedies to have such a huge box office draw.
And what excites me the most is that this movie stars women who are all over 40 and in Kim's case 50, and there is barely a mention of their ages. All the ladies are hot! This film can be enjoyed by all women from their 20's to their golden years as we can relate to the stories of each character and to the bond of friendship that these four have with each other. To me that is a pinnacle of a good story!
So far, all my friends have loved the flick. Did you see it this weekend? What did you think?
