This weekend, Matt, my parents, my best friend, and myself, all wen to the Learning Annex Wealth Expo held at Moscone Center in San Francisco. I went to this event primarily because in two days, I could see three famous people who's work I really enjoy. It's really an amazing deal for $112 to see the likes of Tony Robbins, Suze Orman, and Rich Dad/Poor Dad Robert Kiyosaki all in one place over 2 days. Robert's wife Kim Kiyosaki debuted her new book Rich Woman at the conference, and she spoke as well. The other headliner was Donald Trump, and many people love that guy, but I am not one of them, and neither is Matt so we left after seeing the big 3.
I have to say that my experience over this weekend at this Wealth Expo was really eye opening, and life altering. Two big things I walked away with was 1. I am financially illiterate, and that has profoundly affected my ability to increase my financial abundance. Robert Kiyosaki made an excellent point that schools do not teach children or adults how to read financial statements, even something as simple as a balance/income sheet. I admit I am one of those who is not well versed in the jargon of finances. 2. Tony Robbins stated that if you want a peek at what your standards are, take a look at your life. For example, the state of health or lack of health your body is in, is a testament to the standards you maintain regarding your physical self. If you are fat, you have low(er) standards regarding your body. If you are 60 years old and can run marathons and dance til 3am, you have high(er) standards regarding your body. You take care of your yourself according to the standards you maintain. So, after Tony used the body as an example for standards, it hit me like a ton of bricks that I have gained 20 pounds of excess weight over the past year and a half because I lowered my health standards. I stopped exercising. I stopped watching my nutrition. I started eating junk foods and more sugar. I eat most of my foods after 8 pm.
I need to take a serious look and re-evaluation of my body standards and figure out why I have dropped many standards I used to be so committed to.
