This weekend Mattie paddled in his first "official" kayak race, and took 1st place in his category. It was really cool, and I was soooooo proud of him. The best part for me was to see the excitement and bliss in his eyes. Matt loves being in the water in his kayak, and has met a new group of friends he loves to hang out with. The guys were in the race as well, in different categories. They all won ribbons too.
Not only did Mattie win a first place ribbon, he also won a THULE kayak rack ($400 value) for his SUV in the raffle. You couldn't have asked for a more perfect day!
