At the BlogHer conference back in July, Arianna Huffington talked about her new book "On Becoming Fearless..in love, work, and life." She told us all, as a BlogHer special, that if we wanted a copy of the book, to send her an email with our details, and she would send us one. So, I sent Arianna an email, and pretty much forgot about it. Lo and behold, yesterday the book arrived on my doorstep. Quite exciting!
I mention this because it's details that contribute to a person's character. This woman is busy, but she made a promise and came through. Brownie points in my book. Honestly, I didn't know much about Arianna before BlogHer except that she had a big duke out with Arnold during a debate, and that she has one of the most popular blogs in the World, Huffington Post.
I'm not big into politics, for reasons we can discuss later, but I did enjoy Arianna's talk at BlogHer. She was witty, open, and inspiring. She talked about her fears about being a mother, and in particular her fears around one of her daughter's battle with an eating disorder, and her fears on how/if she contributed to her daughter's struggle. I was shocked to hear Arianna share this story with us because it something very personal, but I applauded her for being very human. Again, it's more brownie points in my book.
I look forward to reading the book, and so far I love this in the jacket cover:
"Huffington shows us how to be bold from the inside out-from feeling comfortable in our own skin to getting what we want in love and at work to changing the world."
