One trait that can make your blog stand out from the mass of other blogs is pictures. You can buy non-royalty, web-ready, stock photos for $1 to use on blogs or websites.
Let me tell you. The stuff that is available for $1 is really impressive. Here on Back in Skinny Jeans, I use stock photos quite a bit because I feel that pictures add another dimension to a post, and make the blog, overall, more engaging so people come back to visit.
There are many sites that offer inexpensive stock photos, but here's a list of what I think are the creme of the crop in $1 stock photo offerings. There are also subscription based stock photo places where you pay a set fee for a month to a year, and are able to download a certain amount.
Personally, I like variety, so I do not go the subscription route because the money/choice ratio is usually not high enough for me on these subscription based sites. Yes, Stephie has a high bar. I'll typically buy $10-$20 credits at different sites so I get an expanded choice. These $1 sites are also addictive, and can be a source for some post ideas. Enjoy!
