Yesterday, was a huge day for Back in Skinny Jeans and for me as a blogger. Apparently, RSS was a much bigger mystery than I imagined, and the traffic to the post "How to explain RSS the Oprah way" nearly broke the house down.
Thank you all who came to visit, share, and comment. I am thrilled that I can help clear the clouds when it comes to helping more people understand and use RSS because it really does make surfing the web much easier and faster. For those resistant to change or frightened off by new technologies, the learning curve for RSS is really minor compared to the world of benefits you get from it. Truly.
Why write about technology on a blog about skinny jeans and beauty?
I started writing more about technology (my background) on this blog because I hated that women's magazines focused primarily on physical beauty. Where's the beef? Besides buying makeup, clothes, and shoes, which is fun, what about buying a car, starting a business, becoming financially independent, buying a house, or learning technology. Offer tips on anything to help women become more well rounded and prepared to be able to take care of ourselves without having to depend on a Prince Charming or a trust fund.
Technology is power, and many people, especially women, rely on beauty as their primary source for power in their lives.I want to offer other solutions for people that will help them build character, happiness, independence, and connection beyond a pretty face and hot body.
Technology also represents freedom. I swill showcase technologies that help make our lives better, and sometimes all that takes is a simpler way of explaining things. The web is an extremely abundant place and a source of unlimited opportunity. I am so happy to be here on the web. Every day is a new learning experience and a chance to meet some really fabulous people!
