Yahoo Hack day, is basically like a science fair in school except that it is a geek-fest for software hacking instead of for building lava spewing volcanoes, and it's open for adults to play too.
Like science fairs, women, girls, or anyone with XX chromosomes basically are typically amiss at these techie hacker events, so for the overall winner of the Yahoo Hack day to be a fashion piece designed by a trio of ladies is not only super cool but a fashion achievement based on brains, not beauty. Aaaa-nd, it's FINALLY an example where the geeks are thinking outside the hack, and picking a winner that everyday people could use and actually understand without having a geek decoder.
"The winning project, called Blogging In Motion, combined a camera, a
handbag, a pedometer and the Flickr API to create a device that takes a
picture after every few steps and then automatically blogs those pictures. The device was created by Diana Eng, Emily Albinski and Audrey Roy, pictured to the right along with the device."
Congratulations ladies! Fashion and geeky brains are beautiful.
