War & Dialogue: A new exhibit from Imagining Ourselves "A Global Generation of Women"
I have talked before about the International Museum of Women (IMOW) and their online exhibit: Imagining Ourselves "A Global Generation of Women." The IMOW had a beautiful online exhibit that ran last summer, and it
was so popular that they extended the project and have created a new
set of content for a second go around. There will be several themes in
this new set of exhibit material lunched over the course of this year
and next.
The first theme is now open and it is called, "War and Dialogue." I highly recommend all women to see this exhibit because you get to see
very unique points of view from women all over the world. You walk away
from this exhibit feeling more enlightened and in tune with what is
happening in places around the globe.
Behind the headlines and news clips we see everyday, you'll learn more about how war is affecting the lives of women around the world both in conflict zones and outside them. It is one thing to read the news but it is another thing to actually hear the stories from people who live with war everyday. There is some powerful stuff here.
There is an open call for submissions for the other themes in the Imagining Ourselves exhibit. Check it out. You just may be a part of this exhibit yourself. One of the themes is on "Image & Identity" something close to home for Back in Skinny Jeans readers.
