The first female Speaker of the House takes her place
Putting politics aside, this was really an exciting moment to watch Nancy Pelosi take the gavel as the first woman to be the Speaker of the House of Representatives. The thing I love about living in America is that women have the ability to climb to as high a place as you want to go. I hope in my lifetime to see the first female President of the United States (for real, not on TV, although I loved Geena Davis.)
