Half of the weight loss battle is mental, so one way to help avoid over doing it calorie wise this holiday season is to start thinking, "Gorgeous versus Gorge." One reason so many of us gain so much weight over the holidays is because of all the gorging of food and alcohol.
No matter your size, weight, or state in life, start putting yourself into a Gorgeous mindset. Look in the mirror and say, "Hello Gorgeous!" When driving, shopping, or waiting in line, smile and think to yourself, "I am a gorgeous woman." Compliment your girl friends, your neighbors, or one of your co-workers and tell them,"Hey, you look gorgeous today." The smile you put on their face will brighten their day and make you feel wonderful.
Now that you are reveling in all this gorgeousness, when you walk into that next holiday gathering or walk past all those goodies in the break room at work, look at all the food and ask yourself, "What would a gorgeous woman eat?"
Now, truly gorgeous women do eat. They savor and eat consciously not mindlessly stuff themselves like an overflowing Christmas stocking. Starvation and deprivation is not a hallmark of gorgeousness either. But the quality of what you eat, how much you eat, and when you eat do factor.
For example, a piece of candy from the Halloween bag will make you feel like a kid, but a fine piece of handmade cocoa perfection will make you feel ravishing. Gorging on 3 plates of heavy foods will make you feel bloated and guilty while one plate filled with small portions will make you glow with satisfaction that you got to sample multiple dishes from the holiday buffet table with room to taste some dessert without feeling like you need to unbutton your pants. Or, you may decide, "You know what, I'll pass on the afternoon holiday cookies, and save those calories for a healthy scrumptious dinner later."
It's your choice to feel gorgeous or to gorge. If for some reason you do over do it and gorge on more food or alcohol than you wanted, gorgeous women are kind to themselves and give themselves a break. You over did it, and it's not the end of the world. The next day you can workout a little bit longer or cut back on your calories. The gorgeous woman knows that there is nothing that is un-fixable when it comes to feeling like a knockout.
