Can someone explain to me why or how the Victoria's Secret "Angels" got a star on the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame?
According to the "official" Walk of Fame nomination form, the celebrity must fit into one of 5 categories: TV, Motion Pictures, Live Theater, Radio, or Posthumous (Dead celebs), and then a list of their qualifications must be cited kind of like an IMDB profile. Tidbit: A $25,000 fee is associated with the nomination process, and the deciding committee members consists of, "...someone with expertise in that field."
So, the annual Victoria's Secret Fashion show on TV counts as a TV show that enables the Angels to qualify as "entertainers." The shows are actually listed on IMDB, I kid you not. And I can't even imagine what someone put down as their qualifications.
I'd like to know who the actual committee members were that voted thumbs up for the Victoria's Secret models. I personally think this is a dis-service to the actors and actresses who actually have real acting talent and are rich in creativity producing content that is considered art and entertainment. Is underwear modeling considered talent and art now? If so, I'm really dismayed.
