- Sara Grace over at The Flying Trapeze has a couple featured posts written by two different women who experienced weight gain after going "off" the pill after each had been taking the little pregnancy preventers for almost a decade. In "Goodbye Pills. Goodbye Cravings," Melissa G goes off the pill to start prepping her body for the baby she and her hubby want someday. She shares the good and the bloated. In "Out of Pills, Out of Sync," Melissa H ran out of pills and decided impromptu "what the heck why not stop taking them for awhile." See how her type A personality reacted to her body's changes.
I personally haven't been on the pill for 10 years now, but when I was on it, my body actually shed some weight. My girl friends hated me. I was in heaven. When I went off, not much happened physically. I really did miss though knowing the exact day Flow was coming to town.
- Status on my heavy metal detox: I'm now in the middle of cycle 3 of the 5 cycle process. In mid-January, when it's all done, I'll be tested again to see the results. Hopefully, all that mercury, lead and tungsten will be adios. On the good, my mood swings and irritability have diminished immensely. On the smelly, for 5 days during the part of the cycle where all the metals in my body are being stripped out, my pee smells like rotten eggs and it is a really strong smell. Yucky actually. I'm kinda glad I'm doing this detox living by myself.
- One of the things I'm loving about having dropped 21 pounds so far is that my thighs are not rubbing together any more giving me that thigh rash. I used to rub Vaseline on my thighs to help prevent the friction from skin rubbing on skin. Sometimes I don't know what I'd do without Vaseline.
- The other day, I pulled out from the closet a pair of one of my skinny jeans that fit me well when I was 25 to try on for pure curiosity. I was able to get the pants on, and zip almost to the top. I couldn't snap the button at the waist, and had one hell of a muffin top overflow, but I got them on. I was able to get them on past my butt, and I was thrilled. Ecstatic actually. I think I was more proud of appreciating all my hard work to achieving a goal. It's exciting when a long awaited goal is now within an easy reach.
